Fresh Information Come to Light About the Location of Rob and Michele Singer Reiner's Remains
New information has come to light regarding the tragic passing of esteemed film director Rob Reiner and artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were found at their Brentwood, Los Angeles property on Sunday.
A Alarm
A source indicates quoting a person close to the family, a massage therapist arriving for an appointment first raised the alarm after being unable to gain access the house. The therapist then got in touch with the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives close by.
When she went into the house, Romy came upon her father's body. It is said she then left the home distraught, without knowing at that moment that her mother's body was also present. A companion who had accompanied her promptly called 911. Following this, first responders located Michele Singer Reiner's body.
Legal Charges
Law enforcement have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of murder in the first degree, as well as the charge related to a weapon, reportedly a knife. He is currently detained and is ineligible for bail.
Clarifications
The anonymous source also disputed several initial details. They said that while Romy Reiner informed emergency responders that her brother Nick lived in a guesthouse on the estate, she did not name him as a potential suspect at that time.
The source also refuted circulated notions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been especially "apprehensive" about Nick's actions in the preceding period. Rather the family was "accustomed to working through [Nick's] problems together."
The statement also extends to reports of alleged "unstable" behavior by Nick at a event hosted by Conan O'Brien on the night before the discovery. Although the source stated they were not in a position to confirm whether Rob had "chastised" his son at the party, they asserted that suggestions of a "heated argument" between the two were inaccurate.
Ongoing Inquiry Timeline
Per law enforcement officials, the medical examiner had not yet established as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died Saturday night or on Sunday. Preliminary media reports indicated the state of their bodies suggested they had been deceased for some hours.
Nick Reiner was arrested at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park area, about 15 miles from the family home. He was due to appear in court on Tuesday, but his lawyer, Alan Jackson, stated his client had a medical issue and would not appear until Wednesday at the earliest.
