Iranian forces say they have struck a US naval base in Manama, as the country executed missile attacks across the region in retaliation for a "massive" and continuing attack targeting the nation by the US and Israel.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an vicinity close to the headquarters of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any damage is uncertain and the United States has remained silent.

Airspace Engagements

In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - which all house American military installations - stated they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.

In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry stated it had successfully engaged several missiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was attacking US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the strikes on Iran initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday.

That preceding assault - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on sites linked to the the regime, with President Trump calling on the Iranian people to rise up against the leadership.

Regional Fallout

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israel Defense Forces stated it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The defence ministry of the UAE announced that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses engaged the projectiles with notable success and shot down a number of missiles," the statement continued.

Officials reported debris landed in a neighborhood in the capital, causing some structural damage and the death of one civilian.

The United States Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
