The Renowned Musician Calls On Support to Propel Together for Palestine Track to UK Holiday Chart Peak.
A fundraising initiative is aiming to propel a Palestinian lullaby to the Christmas number one spot. The effort hopes to send support to people in Gaza while also showcasing Palestinian culture and creativity.
A Possibility for Support and an "Surprise Victory"
Renowned figure Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a chance to support Palestinians over the Christmas period. He remarked the potential for an unlikely festive coup.
“It would be incredible if that occurred, yes,” he commented. “I wouldn't be completely let down if it fails to, holiday tracks are a category of their own.”
Resilient Spirit of Dignity and Freedom
Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the adaptation of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's resilient spirit.
“It has a deeply meaningful spot for a lot of people,” Barghouti explained. “The essence is that I would choose to perish with honor than exist without freedom. That is the core idea of the song; we want to live a dignified life that we deserve as Palestinians.”
Track's Background and Featured Artists
The track was produced following a large-scale benefit event held in September. Originally intended to be done as a live recording, the performance was shelved during the concert due to time constraints.
The notable list of musicians featured on Lullaby encompasses a group of acclaimed names from the music world. All were part of the earlier concert, which reportedly raised a substantial amount for humanitarian aid.
Creation and Launch
Lullaby was produced by a team of music creators. The track blends a combination of the traditional Arabic lyrics with new English lyrics.
The group managing the campaign have clarified that their aim is to raise as much as possible for a charitable pot. These resources will be distributed to Palestinian causes through an non-profit partner.
“We don’t have a specific target,” a figure said. “We will pursue the maximum achievable. Of course, the higher the total, the greater the impact. Every penny goes out to Gaza.”
The situation in the region was characterized as its extreme devastation, with a vast majority of infrastructure reportedly levelled or seriously harmed.
“In that context, a handful of millions doesn’t make that much difference. But I think what does make a difference is first of all making this cause better known and proving there’s another side to the story.”
The song is launching at the end of the week. Additionally, a complete film of the benefit event will be made available for streaming on a major video platform from later in the month.
