The visionary game developer, the mind behind the wildly popular first-person shooter Call of Duty, has tragically died in a car accident in the state of California aged 55.

His passing was confirmed by Electronic Arts, the parent company of Respawn Entertainment, the development studio he co-founded.

The influential industry figure lost his life when his car crashed and caught fire on a highway in the Los Angeles area on Sunday, as reported by.
